About Us

The Light Academy recognizes that every child is a gift from God, and we partner with parents to teach children to love God, to love others as God loves us, to excel in academics, to be good problem solvers, and to work cooperatively with others towards a common goal whether it be an academic project, a community service project, or to resolve a conflict.

The Light Academy strives to provide a quality Christian education for day students and  to share resources, provide support, and provide collaboration with parents of home school students.  This includes providing joint school and home school activities, field trips, and community service projects for both day students and home school students. The vision is to grow to a K-12  academy.

The Light Academy a non-denominational community Christian school and home school cooperative founded on the scripture Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world.  A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on it’s stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

The Light Academy started it’s first year in the fall of 2014 and ended it with 23 students. God sent us to our location which is next to a restaurant that we work with to provide our hot lunches.   Twenty computers were donated to us and God sent us tables, chairs, bookcases, and the furniture we needed.  God led us to our first 21 passenger bus to take us to our community service projects, field trips, and trips to Health Nutz weekly for swimming. It was a remarkable, faith building, and joyful year!

Our second year began with additional staff due to an unexpected growth of 45 students!  We also added a second building which provided two additional classrooms.  Every step of the way, we praise God for His blessings, and we wait for his leading!  For our fundraiser, we raised enough money to purchase a second full size school bus!!  This will allow us to take groups in different directions for different projects and trips when needed. We are also adding additional laptop computers and another projector.  God has led and blessed us in ways we could have never seen or planned.  We  are so grateful!

We are in our third year, and we have added 9th and 10th grades.   God has blessed our enrollment so far with great students, families, and staff!  It’s exciting to see God bless this year again in ways we could have never predicted.
